Racing Legend Al Unser Jr. Leads the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival Parade

Every October, the West Side Nut Club turns up the excitement in Evansville, Indiana, with its legendary WSNC Fall Festival! This week-long celebration along Franklin Street is nothing short of spectacular, boasting free entertainment, carnival fun, and a massive parade that draws more than 200,000 people to the West Side. Considered one of the largest street festivals in the U.S., this Southern Indiana staple is an event you won’t want to miss.

The Fall Festival is home to a whopping 137 food booths, offering everything from mouth-watering local favorites to unique culinary creations you won’t find anywhere else. Whether you’re craving a classic corn dog, deep-fried delights, or something sweet, Franklin Street’s got it all. Plus, enjoy carnival rides, games, and amateur talent competitions to keep everyone entertained.

Meet the 2024 Grand Marshal: Al Unser Jr.

This year, the West Side Nut Club has selected a true legend to lead the parade—Al Unser Jr.! The two-time Indianapolis 500 champion, with 34 career wins, will be the 2024 Fall Festival Grand Marshal. Unser, who spends much of his time in Evansville with his wife Norma, is a perfect fit for this exciting role. Parade Chair Phil Cree humorously notes, "The Indy 500 is the largest single-day sporting event, so why not have a two-time champ kick off the largest weeklong festival?"
