Our friends at the Kentucky Cancer Center are so excited to host Horses and Hope again this year at Ellis Park in Henderson, KY.

The Horses and Hope organization was founded in 2008 by former first lady Jane Beshear. Their mission is to provide education, promote the importance of cancer screenings, and facilitate treatment referrals when necessary for folks across Kentucky. Originally focused to help workers in the horse industry, through generous donations from Churchill Downs, the North American Championship Rodeo, and many other friends they've been able to expand their reach.

You may have seen the Horses and Hope cancer screening van at the Kentucky State Fair or other events promoting health, early detection and prevention. Or on Kentucky Oaks Day. Which is the day before Derby when everyone wears pink to bring awareness and advocate for women's health.

Another day when everyone wears pink is at a Pretty in Pink Horses and Hope Race Day. These occur at various tracks around the state to celebrate survivors and have some fun, and there is one coming up close to us at Ellis Park. This Saturday August 3rd starting at 11AM and you are invited!

Dress code is, of course, pink everything! There will be awards presented for Prettiest Pink, Most Creative, and Best Breast Cancer T-Shirt. Free lunch will be provided and commemorative gifts for survivors. Kentucky Lt. Governor, the lovely Jacqueline Coleman, will be in attendance as well. After lunch, the horses will run a special race with photo opportunities in the Winner's Circle and you can even take selfies with the horses!

Call 1-877-326-1143 to RSVP for the event. For more information visit the Horses and Hope website here.
