Kudos to the Owensboro Family Who’s Been Decorating the ‘Bypass Christmas Tree’ [VIDEO]
Something very low-key has been happening in Kentucky the last few weeks and I am totally here for it.
Trees and grass grow up through cracks in the pavement everywhere if you let them. Let's face it; nature won't stop unless we stop it. I have a tree in the backyard that's already more than 12 feet tall, and it seemed to happen before I knew it. It's what has made me wonder about the ones I see on the sides of roads. How long will they be allowed to stay where they are?
The Tates Creek Christmas Tree
Because of a couple of random incidents, I hope the trees involved will stay there forever because folks are having too much fun with them. And it's the right kind of fun. First, we go to the Tates Creek neighborhood in Lexington and a story about a roadside evergreen that someone decided to decorate for Christmas. And why not? Also, it started back in October:

And now we move to my hometown of Owensboro and another small evergreen that I've seen on the westbound offramp from New Hartford Road onto the bypass a number of times. At night, at a glance, it looks like someone standing on the side of the road. Very creepy. But during the holiday season, well, take a look:
