Funeral Home Offers Grief and Healing Camp for Western Kentucky Children
Change, discrimination, hate, neglect, poverty, or abuse can cause a significant amount of stress in children. Losing someone you love can cause them to withdraw, and become emotional. That's why there's a spring day camp coming to Daviess County to serve stressed, anxious, or trauma-impacted kids.
Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory holds a special place in my heart. I had so much loss between 2013 and 2015 and needed a helping hand to cope. During this time, I lost both of my parents, and my husband's parents, my house was burglarized, my car was totaled in a freak accident, had a health scare, and challenges at my job. It was a lot. Their therapist knew I must be having a hard time. She sought me out and handed me her business card. She told me I could see her whenever I needed to. It was such a blessing!
CAMP LOGAN COMES BACK TO OWENSBORO
Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro is again back with a very important camp. Children who live through the loss of a loved one may need special attention to recover for many years. The after-effects can be long-lasting. This is where Camp Logan comes in. The grief camp is open to children and teens between 6 and 16 years old. The camp offers young people the opportunity to understand grief and loss. They'll address how to deal with emotional stress and anxiety after experiencing the death of a loved one. Not addressing the grief can lead to more severe problems down the road. Camp Logan is FREE of charge. Save the date for March 23, 2024!
