Could Nashville Land a Venue Just Like the Las Vegas Sphere?
On September 29th, 2023, Las Vegas upped its entertainment game considerably when one of the most exciting venues on the planet opened for business. And when Sphere at the Venetian Resort, just outside the Las Vegas Strip, did open, it was like opening the floodgates.
Sphere in Las Vegas
Suddenly, tourists who may have only had a passing interest in visiting Sin City were quickly searching ticket prices and making plans to head west (Or east, I guess, for those on the West Coast). Yes, Sphere is a bit of a pricey undertaking, but folks are squirreling that cash away in order to be there.
Could a Sphere Be Coming to Nashville?
Well, we've just learned that Nashville, another next-level entertainment capital, could make room for its own Sphere within its rapidly sprawling metropolitan confines. And if it pans out, we could see entertainment like this. (Or something other movie, which, I think, would be equally cool.)
I bet I've seen more Facebook posts about Sphere's The Wizard of Oz than any other concert or presentation. Speaking of concerts...and Nashville, imagine an event like this in Music City.
Picture Chesney, or any country superstar, for that matter, on a stage like that. The Nashville Sphere would be smaller, though, if it happens.
Sphere in Nashville Is Still Just a Possibility
And before we get too excited, remember that this is still in the discussion phase. Axios Nashville, which broke the story, even reports that Sphere Entertainment didn't respond to interview requests.
That either means "keep dreaming," "we have nothing to tell you at this point," or "we're keeping everything a secret, and publishing information on our own timetable."
In my humble opinion, of course. But I've got my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed, just the same.
