Growing up, I can’t remember a time when I didn’t make the honor roll—except for one. Chemistry was my Achilles’ heel. I had an old-school teacher who wasn’t exactly engaging, and I struggled to understand most of what he was saying. Despite being a good student, I spent countless evenings and early mornings in tutoring sessions because math and chemistry were just so tough for me. Fortunately, free help is much easier to find these days. The internet is full of resources, but if your child needs one-on-one assistance, you can always ask the teacher for help or consider the YMCA's Free Homework Help sessions.
