Lately, I've been itching to go to the movies. See, back in the day, catching a flick wasn't exactly a regular thing for me. My folks weren't big movie buffs, so I didn't have those typical weekend outings to the theater. Instead, it was either tagging along with my school crew on our annual cinema trip (shoutout to the Malco in Wesleyan Park Plaza in Owensboro, for those Disney flicks at Christmas!) or hitching a ride with friends and their parents.

But you know what? That rarity made each movie outing feel special. I can vividly recall every single one from my childhood. My husband has been an avid movie-goer his whole life. He even has a movie theater ritual. He gets a large popcorn and a box of Redhots. Then he uses this hack to evenly distribute butter into his popcorn. He gets a large coke to wash it all down. A kids tray suits me just fine because, let's be real, I only need a handful of popcorn. Plus, if I chug too much soda, I'm on bathroom duty for the rest of the movie — not exactly my idea of a good time.
