Reader's Digest recently published a list of the best pumpkin patches in each state, but we have some questions about the one they chose in Illinois.

Fall Traditions in Illinois

Fall is my favorite season in Illinois, and my two daughters (ages 11 and 9) make sure we don’t miss our annual family trip to a pumpkin patch and local apple orchards. They love playing with the farm animals and eating cider donuts. They love pony rides, searching for the perfect carving pumpkin, and they even love looking through the gift shop areas for another holiday decoration we probably don't need.

When it comes to pumpkin patches we love, the Lindberg Pumpkin Patch in Caledonia is always on our must-visit list, but what other cool ones in Illinois should we consider checking out this year?

The Best Pumpkin Patch in Illinois

Since my family is down for whatever fall fun we can find, I recently went on a hunt for other fall attractions in Illinois that we have never been to, and I came across a Reader's Digest article that listed the best pumpkin patch in each state.

Sonny's Acres Farm vs. Lindberg Pumpkin Patch

At the end of the day, all pumpkin patches are amazing, but if I had to compare the two I would say this: Sonny’s Acres is big, busy, and packed with attractions (which can also mean packed with people and higher prices) and the Lindberg Pumpkin Patch is a more laid-back farm experience with less overwhelming crowds.

To me, the best pumpkin patches aren’t always the biggest, they’re the ones that feel like home. Do you agree?
