A cold, crispy morning loading everyone on the school bus to go to Chicago was truly an experience only Illinois kids remember. Every year, it was the same museums we'd visit, and it never got old!
Waited in a 20-car line for Culver's or Portillo's
I do this even as an adult. The only drive-thrus that are truly worth waiting over 5 minutes in line for are Culver's and Portillo's. You know it'll always be lip-smackin' good.
You've eaten something fried on a stick that shouldn't have been
Fried oreos, pickles, twinkies, mac 'n cheese... it's bound to happen, especially with summer coming and all the fairs popping up around the state.

I've said pop my entire life. My cousins in the south always make fun of me, which I don't blame them. The way my Midwest accent comes out when I say "PAAAHP" is so cringe.

We've never dressed for the weather here. Not sure why, but we underestimate the weather in Illinois. Waiting at the bus stop without a coat and it's 20 degrees? You're definitely an Illinois kid. It's such a canon event.
