At this time, nobody has come forward to claim the prize, but that's not unusual to hear.  Most people who win this kind of money lawyer up, figure out who in their family is getting paid besides themself, make the decision whether they'd quit their job, and how long they lay low for before cashing in on the major win.

This is a dream scenario for anyone, but also a scary situation when they finally claim the $349M prize.  Surprisingly, this marks the 4th Mega Millions jackpot won by an Illinois player in the past four years.  As Cortland, Illinois eagerly waits for the prize to be claimed, they will also be celebrating with $500,000.  That's how much the General Store will receive as a bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Many residents in Cortland are hoping it's a resident who won, but as of right now it's still unknown.  One man even said he's running for mayor and hopes the winner puts a little bit of money toward his campaign.  See... we're already seeing people trying to spend someone else's money!  If you ever won this much money, how long would you wait to come forward and claim the jackpot?

This Mega Millions winner has up to 12 months to claim the prize before it expires.
