You Won’t Believe Kentucky’s Most Misspelled Word
According to a recent study using Google searches, Kentucky's most misspelled word is surprising.
How many times a day do you misspell a word on a text, email, or anything like that? Thankfully, in 2025, we have things like autocorrect and other programs to help us out when it comes to words that we misspell. However, back in the day, we didn't have that luxury. Even with the help from the computer or phone, I still find myself misspelling certain words like "definitely," "vacuum," and even "February". And yes, I did have to use autocorrect to make sure those were spelled correctly. I'm sure there is a word or words that you struggle with spelling, too.
Some words are easier to spell than others, in general. A recent study has revealed the most misspelled word in each state. The research, conducted WordUnscrambler.pro, used data from Google Trends between January 1, 2025, to May 19, 2025, to determine each state's most mispelled word. Funny enough, this data was revealed a few days before the National Spelling Bee, which is on May 28 and May 29.

Kentucky's Most Mispelled Word in 2025
According to the report, data from Google Trends for searches like "How do you spell" and "How to spell" in Kentucky reveals that the word people struggle spelling the most is a word that you just read..."people."
That's surprising to me. I never took that word as one that would be difficult to spell. However, Kentucky wasn't the only state that had "people" as its most misspelled word. Arizona, South Carolina, and Virginia all had that as their most misspelled word for 2025. But don't worry, I'm not judging. I'm just trying to figure out how you spell it incorrectly.
