The Toddler Tantrum Trick Moms Everywhere Are Raving About
Apparently, "Jessica" Is Your Best Friend And You Didn't Know It
Whether you're a parent or not, we've all experienced a toddler tantrum at some point in our lives. A small, tiny human, screeching at the top of their little lungs, fully committed to getting their way, no matter what. As much as we love their cute little souls, when it sounds like that little soul is trying to leave their bodies, we would do anything to make it stop. Lucky for us, there's a cool new trend that, in most cases, does exactly that! When your child starts their tantrum, simply ask, "Where is Jessica?" and let nature take it from there.
Why Does The Jessica Trick Work?
Young children are still in the early developmental years of their lives, in multiple ways, but primarily, the brain is still developing. A simple distraction during a temper tantrum can be enough to make them go, "What?" and distract them from their tantrum altogether. Younger children have lower attention spans. They simply can't grasp the quick change in subject. Their regulation skills are also still developing, so they're not jumping on the understood bandwagon anytime soon. However, if used multiple times, there's a good chance they will catch on, and you might want to try switching up the name. Apparently, this little trick works on dogs as well. Not sure about birds or ferrets or other household pets, but so far there's an ample supply of dog success. Best of luck to all you mamas out there!
