One Indiana gem was recently named among America's Coziest Restaurants.

We all know that Indiana has a lot of great restaurants. That's especially true when it comes to local restaurants. These restaurants have become staples in that area, and people must go whenever they are in town. They are restaurants that can even become bucket-list places to dine at. Whether it be comfort food, burgers, fried chicken, seafood, Italian, Mexican, steakhouses, or any other type of restaurant, there are certain places that stand out among the rest. You can't sleep in some small-town restaurants that we have in Indiana. Many of those are hidden gem restaurants that people who are passing through would never know are there.

My family and I make it a point to scope out local restaurants when we are traveling because we know that's where we are going to get some of the best food. What makes a local restaurant even better, aside from the food, is the overall vibe of the place. If it's got good food and the environment is cozy, you've found a really great restaurant.

Recently, the website Cheapism found the coziest restaurant in each state. We're talking about places like a beautiful spot for a date night, a homey country café for a family lunch, or a lodge-like restaurant. This list has it all. When it comes to the coziest restaurant in Indiana, it's a place that will take you back in time.

The Coziest Restaurant in Indiana

According to Cheapism, if you want to find the coziest restaurant in Indiana, you are going to want to make a trip to Goshen. That's where you will find the South Side Soda Shop. This place is a retro diner that will take you back in time with good food and a throwback environment.

Here's what Cheapism said:

If your kind of cozy involves a trip back to a simpler time, the South Side Soda Shop should be on your Indiana itinerary. The red leatherette booths, polished chrome, jukebox, old-school pennants, and retro soda fountain will make you want to stay awhile. So will the menu, filled with comfort-food favorites such as hoagies, crab cakes, pork tenderloin, sundaes, shakes, and floats.

This place is so cool (and delicious) that Guy Fieri even filmed an episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives: Triple D Nation” there.

Have you ever dined at South Side Soda Shop? If so, would you agree that it is deserving of the title of most cozy restaurant in Indiana?
