Horseback Riding

Horseback Riding is one of those things I've always wanted to get into, but I was born and raised a "city slicker" where the only horsepower I know anything about, is the horsepower produced by my dad's 1969 Mach 1 Mustang. I have only ever been on a horse one time, I was 17 and did a trail ride in Alaska. Was it beautiful? Yes. Did I fall and totally embarrass myself when trying to climb off my horse? Also yes.

I have not been on a horse since. However, even if I missed a step and fell getting off of ole Gus, it was't his fault, and I've always wanted to have my redemption by going horseback riding again. The thing is, I've never known where to go. It turns out I don't have to drive too far from Evansvill to enjoy a leisurely trail ride!

How One Indiana Grandpa's Love of Horses Turned into a Business

When scrolling through Facebook I saw a post by Indiana Stays that shared some information about a trail ride business that isn't too far from the Tri-State. Grandpa Jeff's Trail Rides started as a labor of love by, well Grandpa Jeff! He started Grandpa Jeff's Trail Rides because he wanted an excuse to go horseback riding all the time. I love when someone takes their passion and can turn it into something for everyone to enjoy.

According to their website, Grandpa Jeff used to ride all the time when he was a kid, but as life does, he got busy and riding had to take a backseat. Eventually that changed.

Life happened and Jeff drifted from riding, and only road when there was time, but it wasn't enough. Jeff thought there had to be a way he could ride and share this happiness with others. So he decided to make a career out of it.
Grandpa Jeff's Trail rides was born. He loves seeing the smile on others faces as they accomplish their first trail ride or relax with the more experienced riders. Sitting around a campfire and just chatting with the guests.

Grandpa Jeff's Trail Rides is located in Morgantown, Indiana and they offer a 45 minute trail ride, an hour and 45 minute trail ride, and even half day or all day riding as well!
