Quiznos was once a popular place to get subs, but it seems like you can't find a location anywhere anymore.

I used to love going to Quiznos Subs. I would always order their meatball sub until that was eventually discontinued, which is a rant that I'll save for another time. Their chicken carbanara then became my go-to, until all of the locations in my area were gone. It was heartbreaking that I couldn't indulge in my favorite sub restaurant. So, what happened?

What Happened to Quiznos?

In the early 2000s, Quiznos was a premium-choice sandwich chain, a top competitor of Subway, and a franchise with nearly 5,000 locations worldwide in 2006. Then, quicker than it became popular, the chain vanished. According to Startup Stumbles:

Ultimately, extractive franchisee systems and policies including price gouging and store cannibalization, put in place by then Quiznos owner and CEO Rick Schaden, led to unprofitable operators. Eventually, leveraged buyouts and class-action court settlements saddled the business with more debt than it could service, resulting in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in 2014.

In 2024, there are less than 150 Quiznos locations in the United States. It truly is sad to see how a once delicious restaurant had such a bad fallout. While there are no Quiznos locations in my area, I was curious if we even had any more locations open in Indiana. So, I did a little research to find that answer.

How Many Quiznos Locations Remain in Indiana?

According to Quiznos' website, there are currently only four locations remaining in Indiana. Just four. I tried to find how many locations the Hoosier State had at its peak, but I was unable to find that answer. However, there is still an opportunity for Hoosiers who love Quiznos as much as I do to enjoy their food. You can visit any of these four locations in Indiana to get your fill.

Do you wish that Quiznos would find a way to make a comeback? Even if they are locations attached to gas stations, I don't care. Just bring Quiznos back...and the meatball sub too!
