WD-40 has a wide variety of uses, but one unexpected use could be the cause of why it's hard to find cans in Indiana right now.

I always keep a can of WD-40 in my house. You never know what you might need to use it for. My kids' bedroom doors are a little squeaky, so I spray some WD-40 on the hinges from time to time to fix that issue. In fact, the WD-40 website says that the product has over 2,000 uses. Some of these uses are widely known, while others might be something you have never heard of before.

I saw a post on Facebook the other day from someone who said that they couldn't find any WD-40 at the store. Was there a recall? Did they not receive a shipment? As it turns out, the WD-40 website might be to blame for folks in Indiana having a hard time finding some cans on store shelves.

Here's Why it Might Be Hard to Find WD-40 in Indiana Right Now

'Tis the season for pumpkin carving. In fact, my daughter's sixteenth birthday party is coming up this weekend and one of the things she wants to do at her party is carve and paint pumpkins with her friends. As it turns out, pumpkins could quite possibly be the reason why you might have a hard time finding WD-40 right now. But why?

Now, if you're an avid pumpkin carver, then perhaps you already know about this hack. Honestly, this was news to me when I found out about it. So, a normal pumpkin will only last a few days after it has been cut open. After that, it starts to decay. In order to keep the pumpkin in top notch a little longer, a simple can of WD-40 will do the trick.  Here's the phrase from the WD-40 website which explains why it's hard to find especially this time of year:

After you’re done carving, spray your pumpkin with a light coating of WD-40 Multi-Use Product. Not only does it grant extra shine, but the coating will help the pumpkin last a bit longer and delay the onset of decay. Be sure not to spray near a lit candle and wipe away any excess liquid with a cloth or rag.

I'm not going to lie, after learning about this little hack, I am going to have to see if my store has any WD-40 on hand so that all of the girls at my daughter's party will have pumpkins that will last longer. Even though I already have a can at home, I have a feeling that I might need a little extra just in case...you never know what you might need WD-40 for, I mean it does have over 2,000 uses after all!
