This year at the Pretzel Festival history was made when over 600 attendees gathered together to form a human pretzel. Yes, that sounds weird, but they weren’t all knotted up. They stood in clusters and lines to create the image of a pretzel from above. Think like how a marching band will move into different words or images while they are playing at a football halftime show.

These Freeporters weren’t playing instruments, but their efforts set a world record for number of people to form the image of a pretzel. Originally set in 2019, last year in France a new mark of people as a pretzel was set with 529 people. Sorry France, Freeport has weighed in on the issue and placed 603 people into a giant pretzel image to claim the record.

This seems like a record that could be broken and re-broken every year. Keep and eye out for Reading, Pennsylvania which claims to be the "Pretzel Capital of the World". One can imagine a city over four times the size of Freeport wanting to flex.
