Ever since the early 2000s explosion, metalcore as a genre is often associated with the dual vocal approach of clean singing and heavier screams, something contemporary heavyweights such as I Prevail, Wage War and the Amity Affliction have maintained tradition with while also moving the genre into fresh new places.
