Ah, Millennials. An age group that everyone loves to hate. They know what they want and aren't willing to settle for less. America is all about settling for less and this attitude isn't tolerated.

Nevermind the fact that many of us in this age group left the safety and promises of college, only to enter a post-recession economy. Now that the economy is on the upswing, many Millennials are looking to migrate to areas where their skills will be wanted.

MoneyRates.com has compiled a list of the best states for Millenials. They looked for "the best states for the age group that has it toughest - the 20- through 24-year-olds who are trying to find an affordable education, get their careers underway and get by on a budget squeezed by low wages and high student loan payments."

Rounding out the top 10 Best States for Millenials are some surprising selections. Including the Dakotas, Iowa, and Nebraska at the top of the list. I haven't really heard too many people clamoring to check out the living situation in North Dakota.

However, the Hoosier state finds itself 7th on the list, nestled between Kansas and Louisiana. It is noted that Indiana is the least youthful state on the top 10 list based on current population statistics. Internet connectivity and the affordable cost of living helps Indiana keep it's place in the top 10.

How did our neighbors do? For those of you south of the Ohio, Kentucky makes an appearance in the bottom 10 at number 42. The state might be known for Bluegrass, but it isn't known for its health facilities. Unlike it's neighbor to the North, Kentucky didn't score highly for broadband internet access. The only thing Kentuckians have in common with Hoosiers is a low cost of living.

Our neighbors to the East and West, Ohio and Illinois are tied for 18th on the list. Check out the complete list on MarketRate.com.
