Indiana Adventure Lets You Paddle the Ohio River and Shuttle Back to Your Vehicle by Train
Spending time outdoors is one of the most underrated pleasures in life. Exploring our natural surroundings is something we should all make a priority and there are a lot of ways we can do that but there is a really cool experience that is happening soon in Indiana.
Get Paddling
Admittedly, I have very limited experience with kayaking and canoeing, but the experience that I do have has created lasting memories for me. Despite the physical demand of paddling, I still found the experience to be incredibly relaxing and the opportunity to see my environment from a new perspective was exhilarating.
Paddle Indiana
My experience took place while I was traveling, but there are plenty of places to paddle here at home in Indiana too. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources offers a wonderful guide to rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and more where you can get out and paddle.
Don't Own Your Own? Rent It!
If you're like me and you'd like to do some paddling but you don't own your own kayak or canoe, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources even offers details about liveries and outfitters near the various waterways that will allow you to rent the equipment and gear you need to get paddling.
Water and the Rails
If you're looking for a new adventure, you won't want to miss the opportunity to paddle the Ohio River before catching a ride back to your vehicle on the Ohio River Scenic Railway.
Paddle Perry is partnering with Ohio River Scenic Railway to offer a 4 mile paddle on the Mighty Ohio River from Tell City to Troy, IN! Grab a bite from The Barge Inn in Troy after your paddle and enjoy dinner on the train back to your vehicles! Don't worry, we'll watch your things while you're relaxing on the train!
