Feeling the Weather

I am certainly not a meteorologist but I can tell you when there is rain on the way and even thunderstorms. So, without checking with the National Weather Service, I am already predicting storms in the first week of March.

Heavy Rain Thursday Night

So, according to Meteorologist Ron Rhodes, the rain will begin late tonight (3/2/2023). The heaviest rain will occur overnight. This will cause the areas that are prone to flooding a bit dangerous Friday morning. On a bright note, even though it will be a cooler weekend, we won't see this severe weather Saturday or Sunday.

Severe Storm Alert Day Friday, March 3, 2023

A Severe Storm Alert Day is in effect when severe storms are possible for a significant portion of the Tri-State. That is what we will be dealing with overnight and then into Friday.

There is a marginal risk of severe storms tonight. Damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes are the main severe hazards. Heavy rain is expected tonight. Refer to the latest Flood Watch product for more details. Strong and gusty winds are forecast late tonight. Sustained winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected. A few storm-aided wind gusts to 60 mph are possible. A Wind Advisory has been issued. There is a marginal risk of severe storms into Friday morning.
