Deaconess Hospital hosts another FREE men’s health educational presentation on Tuesday, September 9th. This month's topic is one of the most important - "How to Raise a Good Man."

This month both parents/guardians and children are invited to attend. More specifically, pre-teen boys ages 9-12 are invited. As always, this presentation is FREE! This time in their life is full of changes and questions, and Deaconess hopes to educate the boy and their parents. The topics will include:

  • Physical and emotional changes
  • How to deal with anger and other strong feelings
  • Survival tips for everyone in the family

Dr. Candi Vincent, a psychologist at Deaconess Clinic will lead a presentation for the parents - mom and dad and whoever else is invited. And in a separate room, doctors William Smith and Jung Smith will talk to the boys. The goal is to make these boys comfortable and hopefully educate them on what to expect in the coming years.

The FREE presentation will take place in Johnson Hall which is inside the Health Sciences, located on Edgar Street off Virginian on the Deaconess Hospital Main Campus.

Doors open at 5pm, that’s when you can come and get some free food from SUBWAY and you can register to win a pair of tickets to an Indianapolis Colts home game. The presentation will begin at 5:30pm.

We would love for you to pre-register if at all possible – and you can do that at Deaconess.com/menshealth or by calling (812)450-7000.
