Holiday Recycling is This Saturday January 5, 2019
You've unwrapped the presents, and taken down the decorations, but what do you do with all of that paper and the tree? You can recycle it!
On Saturday, January 5, the Vanderburgh County Solid Waste District will hold its annual Holiday Recycling Day at the old Walmart west parking lot on University Drive from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon. The following items will be accepted for recycling at the program:
Newspaper junk mail
Cardboard magazines & catalogs
Aluminum cans steel cans
#1 - #7 plastic containers
- No Styrofoam or plastic bags
- No glass containers
Be sure items are clean and sorted.
In addition, the District will also be taking live Christmas trees which will be mulched by Randy’s Tree Service. The mulch is available to the public. Please bring your own container as none will be provided.
The District has contracted with Wesselman Nature Society to operate the drop-off program. The next recycling day will be held on February 2, 2019 at the old Walmart west parking lot.
