As families across the Tri-State brace for the expected pause in SNAP benefits beginning November 1st, community organizations in Henderson, Kentucky, are stepping up to make sure no one goes hungry.

Henderson Emergency Management has compiled a list of verified local resources offering free meals and groceries to those in need.

Where to Find Free Food and Meal Assistance

According to Henderson Emergency Management, resources are available at the following locations:

Holy Name of Jesus operates its pantry on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9 - 11 am, and is located at 511 Second Street.

Henderson Christian Community Outreach offers food assistance on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9 - 10:45 am, and is located at 509 Fifth Street.

The Salvation Army of Henderson, located at 1213 Washington Street, hosts a food pantry every Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 - 10:45 am, and serves lunch Monday - Saturday, 11 am - 12:15 pm. You must be a resident of the service area, and able to provide proof of residency, along with a photo ID, a social security card for all members of the household, and proof of household income.

First Assembly of God, located at 2208 US 60 East, opens its pantry on the first Wednesday of the month, beginning at 5:30 pm.

St. Vincent de Paul, located at 116 N Alvasia Street, has a food pantry open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 - 11 am.

The East End Community Table serves dinner on Thursday nights at 5:30 pm at Bennett Memorial UMC, located at 503 Letcher Street.

Harbor House, located at 804 Clay Street, serves both lunch and dinner every day at 11 am and 5 pm. All are welcome.

Blessing Boxes and Food Giveaway Events

The Henderson Homeless Coalition is also collecting non-perishable food and will be hosting food giveaways, while supplies last, on November 3rd and November 21st, beginning at 10 am each day. Additionally, the organization has shared a list of "Blessing Box" locations where you can take what you need or leave what you can.
