GBF Adoptable Dog & Cat Of The Week: Elsie & Momma

We've teamed up with our rescue friends in Posey County, Indiana. Each week we share an adoptable dog from PC Pound Puppies and an adoptable feline friend from Posey Humane Society as well as details on how you can make them a forever part of your home. Meet Elsie

Elsie is about 10 - 11 years old and has mothered many litters. Unfortunately, Elsie has tested positive for thyroid issues but they can be managed with medication that she will need for the remainder of her life. PC Pound Puppies have described Elsie as "a real love bug and just wants to please." They also say,

We are on a mission to help this poor girl find the loving, healthy, happy home she deserves. We need to get a picture of her with her big, pink teddy bear. She loves to carry it around with her and it's adorable. It may be the first real thing she's had to call her own! Does fine around young children.

 

Elsie does need to be in a cat-free home.

The PC Pound Puppies adoption fee is $150 which goes to cover a portion of the vetting costs. If you're interested in adding this pup to your family, you can fill out an adoption application here. The adoption process does require a completed application as well as an interview.

Meet Momma & Baby

This week's adoptable kitty is a little extra - she's got a baby on board. This momma cat came into the shelter and is in need of a foster home for herself and her sweet little bundle of joy. Posey Humane Society says,

We need our feline loving friends to help us out ASAP!  We currently have this sweet mama and baby needing a foster home, plus another pregnant cat coming to the shelter tomorrow who will also need a foster home.

Posey Humane Society has plenty of other kitties as well as lots of dogs, both young and old. Their adoption fees are $30 for cats, $50 for kittens up to 6 months old, $100 for dogs and $150 for puppies under 6 months old. The adoption fees include their microchip, spay or neuter, heartworm test and getting the animal up to date on vaccines.
