FOX’s New Comedy ‘Ben and Kate’ Premieres Tuesday

I had the chance recently to spend some time down at FOX44 where they let me see some of the new shows this Fall. Tough job right? I know! It's perfect for a TV junkie like me. One of those shows that really stood out to me was the new comedy Ben and Kate.

The show is about a pair of odd-couple siblings...one, an overly responsible single mom; the other, an exuberant dreamer...and their friends as they push each other out of their comfort zones and into real life.

The first episode, which airs tomorrow night (Tuesday the 25th) at 7:30pm, essentially introduces us to the characters and how their relationships work. It provides some really good laughs, and at the same, without being too cheesy, throws a little heart in there too. I'm really excited about this new show, for a few reasons...A) It's on right before New Girl (Tuesdays at 8pm), which is one of the funniest shows on TV...B) It's from the same producers of New Girl...C) I've seen it and it's really funny.

We find out that brother Ben, who has the best intentions in mind but is just so dim, is in town to try and stop his ex-girlfriend from getting married. He needs a place to stay, and you know where that is. Sister Kate is simply trying to find love and wonders if she's ready to take the next step with her boyfriend. There is a 5-minute trailer below. And although it does give away a few plot points in the first episode, it also is a good glimpse at what we can expect from the series. Check it out if you wanna.
