For several years, you've voted for the Loudwire Music Awards online, but come this fall, you'll be able to actually see the awards experience come to life with the inaugural Loudwire Music Awards ceremony and concert.

The rock and metal spectacular will take place Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Novo Theater in the L.A. Live complex in downtown Los Angeles. The preliminary lineup will be revealed Wednesday, July 19, with tickets and VIP packages going on sale at 10AM PT that same day.

We're proud to announce that the ceremony will be hosted by WWE superstar and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho. "I'm so stoked to reclaim my crown as the greatest rock ‘n’ roll awards show host of all time,” says Jericho. “The Loudwire Music Awards is gonna be the biggest awards show in American heavy metal history, with the biggest bands, biggest performances, biggest trophies and the biggest bar tabs since Lemmy left this mortal coil! So all you Earthdogs, Hellrats and Rivetheads get ready to rock out as we paint the town none more black on Oct. 24, 2017!"

As for the award portion of the ceremony, rock and metal fans will be able to vote in several categories, including Album and Song of the Year, beginning on Aug. 15. Stay tuned for details on this year's nominees and where you can vote.

While the nominees have not been announced yet, we are honored to confirm that Tony Iommi will be on hand to receive the Courage Award. The legendary Black Sabbath guitarist and architect of heavy metal has fought a triumphant battle against lymphoma over the past few years, recording Sabbath's critically acclaimed album, 13, and embarking on their final tour along the way. Starting next year, the Courage Award will be named the "Iommi" and presented to future courageous artists. Iommi will also have a lasting effect on future Loudwire Music Awards in another way as the guitarist had his hand placed in a mold to help create the "Hand of Doom" trophy that will be presented to all Loudwire Music Awards winners and honorees.

“Of all the funny things that I've done in my life -- this was another one. I was asked if I would do a mold of my hand so that they could make it into an award ... I was very honored," says Iommi. "I was asked to put my arm into this big bucket full of this colored gel, all was going fine until it set and then I found that I couldn't get my arm back out! My hand started to cramp up and I thought oh no what now? Anyway, after a considerable amount of pulling and twisting it eventually came out and the cast looked amazing, so much detail, I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished award. Thanks Loudwire, what's next?" See a behind-the-scenes video of the creation of the "Hand of Doom" trophy below.

So, get ready for the inaugural Loudwire Music Awards ceremony coming to Los Angeles on Oct. 24 at the Novo Theater. In the meantime, head over to the official Loudwire Music Awards website for all the latest information.
