Fastest Growing Town in Indiana is Also One of the Healthiest in America
Towns like Carmel and Fishers get a lot of attention for their growth in the Hoosier state. Surprisingly, neither one of them are at the top of the latest 'Boomtown' list.
What is a Boomtown?
Boomtown does not mean that there are actual explosions or anything. This type of boom is referring to the extreme growth in a town. Specifically, a boom in the population and in the business sectors.
The Biggest Boomtown in Indiana
Gobankingrates.com released the list of the biggest boomtowns in every state. Westfield, Indiana is about 200 miles north of Evansville, and it is the biggest boomtown in Indiana.
Population Growth:
- 1 year: 9.71%
- 5 years: 33.28%
- 8 years: 46.53%
Westfield has a lot of new residents, and I'm sure that part of the reason people love this town is the Grand Park Events Center. It just happens to be the official home of the Indianapolis Colts Training Camp. That's kind of a big deal.
It's a Healthy Town, Too
Hamilton County has a very high score when it comes to the population's health. There are a lot of statistics that go into this ranking. This makes Westfield one of the 10 Healthiest Communities in America.

Good News - Westfield Fire Department Stork Award March 2023
Indiana Department of Homeland Security EMS Director Kraig Kinney presented the department’s Stork Award to EMS-certified professionals who assist with a non-hospital delivery of a newborn as part of their EMS duties. Director Kinney states, “EMS professionals are called upon many times daily to respond to challenging calls that are often life-altering, including bringing new lives into the world. Another Indiana family has a happy story to tell for many years to come about how baby Anna was born with the help of the Westfield Fire Department.”
