Right now, the 2020 NFL is set to begin when defending Superbowl champs, the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans on September 10th.

And right now, I'd imagine, sports fans are itching for it.

I've seen surveys on Facebook asking what have you missed the most during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Easy answer: SPORTS.

I believe the reality of the novel coronavirus and its scope really hit home for everyone the day they announced that the 2020 NCAA Tournament was going to be cancelled--something no one, likely not even casual fans, every thought would happen. For hardcore fans--like myself--it's like they'd cancelled driveways or the ability to make a sandwich.

It's been a long time.

Thankfully, Major League Baseball is set to begin on July 23rd, with proper social distancing and safety guidelines in place. But what a treat it will be to see a baseball game on TV.

Safety guidelines are in place for the NFL as well. If you're attending a game this season, you'll need to bring a mask because they will be required for all fans.

Oh, and by the way, if you're looking at that date--September 10th--and thinking that's kind of late. Well...it kind of is.

But this--from the NFL Players Association--explains that:

According to ESPN, there has been no policy, leaguewide, regarding fans even being allowed to attend, with THAT call being made on a case-by-case basis, depending on local mandates where each team is located.

Other teams have already set up social distancing guidelines that would mean far fewer fans in attendance.
