As much as I hate the phrase, these truly are unprecedented times we are facing in 2020, and unfortunately local businesses have been hit harder than ever.  On Tuesday November 3rd, one local restaurant took to Facebook to announce their closure, but there is hope they will eventually be back.

Lake's Metro Deli located on Green River Road in Evansville posted the following to their Facebook page:

It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce that Saturday, November 21st will be our last day open.
Covid has hurt us much like many local businesses and with our lease up we've decided to temporarily shut down, rejuvenate, take a few breaths and look to rebrand and start a whole new concept shortly in the future.
We've LOVED every single one of you that have walked through our doors and have done our best to bring something different, something fresh and new and something great to the Evansville culinary scene and have had a great time doing it.
Our hours until then will be 11am-6pm, come get all of your favorite items a few more times. Please be understanding that as we run of out items we won't be restocking them. Thanks for the love Evansville, we love you right back!
While it is always a huge bummer to see a local business shut their doors, I wish Lake's Metro Deli the best, and hope that one day in the future I'll be able to stop in and enjoy a delicious sandwich again.
You can follow along on their Facebook page for updates on the situation.
