During our "New Normal" of social distancing, virtual opportunities abound and this one will not only teach you how to make a delicious Italian meal at home but also help support the employees of a local restaurant.

Evansville chef, Scott Schymik is the owner of Sauced Italian Restaurant, a wonderful local gem located in the heart of the Haynies Corner Art District. With all of the chaos surrounding the coronavirus, Covid-19, Scott, like a lot of locally owned businesses has gotten creative with how he can help and support his staff during this difficult time. His solution? Scott will be offering a virtual, online cooking class with all of the proceeds from the ticket purchases going back directly to his employees.

From the event:

We all know that a community that hangs together, thrives together! Even though we're all practicing social distancing and can't meet at our favorite spot to bring in the weekend, we can join each other online instead! And even better, we can have a cocktail at home, while supporting a local Evansville business in need. Welcome to our "Happy Hour/Sunday Funday Series" where every Thursday and Sunday, a local restaurant will be highlighted. This week it's our favorite Italian restaurant...Sauced!! Please join us and owner Scott Schymik as he teaches us a fun Italian dish we can make at home as we support his employees through this social event. All proceeds from this Sunday Funday will go to Sauced employees, so come out...I mean, stay in, and help support our local community!

As for how exactly this will work? Well, you purchase a ticket for the event - they're only $4 + a $1.87 fee - you can even purchase more than one ticket do increase your support of the Sauced employees. The morning of the event, an email will be sent out to all who purchased tickets. That email will include a link as well as instructions for how to join the event either on your phone or your computer. Beginning at 12pm, you'll be able to log into the event and join the virtual party for "a clean, safe, but just as fun, Sunday Funday, knowing that the money raised will help support a local business and/or its employees in need." If you aren't able to actually attend the virtual class, you can still purchase a ticket to help support the Sauced staff. Again, 100% of the proceeds will be given to the employees of the restaurant and the cost is less than $6.
