Gaming Popularity

Video games have been popular since the moment they first came out decades ago.   However in recent years thanks to online streaming, we've really seen games explode in popularity.  There are people now who have built entire careers off of playing their favorite video games. In fact in 2022 the global game market is projected to generate $196 billion in revenue.

According to CloudWards.net, gaming is made up of people from all different ages, backgrounds, and gender.  In fact the gender gap they say is very small, as 45% of gamers identify as female and 55% identify as male, so there's a relatively small difference in who is playing games.

People play games for a myriad of reasons, but many say they love the socialization aspect of gaming as well as the mental stimulation gaming brings:

Gaming is not just about socializing — 90% of the gamers in the U.S. claim that they get joy out of gaming, with 87% of them saying that video games provide mental stimulation as well

 

Gamer Wars Event Happening in Evansville

If you are a fan of gaming, this is definitely the event for you! Computers Plus in Evansville is hosting a really cool PC gaming event, Gamer Wars on October 29th from 7 PM to 10 PM.  The event is free and open to anyone who wants to come play games.

According to a press release from Computers Plus the event is free and open to the public.  Gamer Wars will feature the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 which releases on October 28th.   You can try it before you buy it and enter into their tournament at the vent for a chance to win the Gamer Wars Grand Championship trophy and more.   They will have free product and fun giveaways all evening long, as well as food trucks available at the event.
