Evansville Hosting Free Bee City Celebration Event

Evansville residents will soon have a chance to learn how to help protect pollinators and celebrate the city’s new environmental designation.

In 2025, Bee City USA officially certified Evansville as a Bee City, recognizing the city’s commitment to improving habitats for pollinators like native bees.

Now, the Evansville Bee City Committee is launching its first community event to celebrate the certification and promote pollinator-friendly practices across the city.

The free event will take place Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the University of Evansville School of Business Administration building, located on Lincoln Avenue.

Evansville Bee City Event Will Highlight Pollinators

Organizers say the event will feature expert talks, hands-on learning opportunities, and conversations about how residents can support pollinators in their own neighborhoods.

Pollinators like bees play a critical role in agriculture and ecosystems, helping plants reproduce and supporting food production.

The Bee City initiative encourages communities to expand pollinator habitats while reducing the use of pesticides that can harm native bee populations.

Vendors And Community Organizations Will Participate

In addition to educational presentations, the event will include vendors and organizations that promote pollinator-friendly gardening and conservation.

Attendees will be able to connect with local groups working to support biodiversity and environmental stewardship across Evansville.

Organizers say the goal is to inspire residents to take simple steps that can make a meaningful difference for pollinators.

Event Is Free But Registration Is Required

The Bee City celebration is free and open to the public, but registration is required to attend.

The event will be hosted inside the University of Evansville’s School of Business Administration building, located at 1800 Lincoln Avenue.

Residents interested in attending can register online ahead of the event.
