Downtown Evansville Park at 4th & Main to Become CenterPoint Energy Square
An exciting development is coming to downtown Evansville, CenterPoint Energy Square. Remember the park at 4th & Main street in downtown Evansville? It's needed updates for a long time now, and for a while has been sitting closed to the public. Now new life is coming to the Main street walkway and I think it's exactly what downtown Evansville needs.
The City of Evansville Parks and Recreation Department announced they were the recipients of a $1,000,000 (that's one entire million dollars!) grant to renovate the old park at Fourth and Main street. The grant comes from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation, and the plans they have for this upcoming park are very exciting. Here's what the Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District said about the upcoming project:

Our offices at 103 GBF are located downtown, less than a block off the Main street walkway. I spend many lunch breaks taking a walk down main, checking out the Market on Main, and enjoying a stroll downtown. This will be such a great addition to downtown, I'm excited to take my lunch breaks and walk down to enjoy a nice meal at CenterPoint Energy Square, and just enjoy some fresh air in the middle of my workday. This truly will be such an asset to downtown Evansville, and I cannot wait to see it completed!
