Donation Restrictions: Items Not Accepted at Goodwill in Kentucky
Donating unwanted items to Goodwill is a fantastic way to support a good cause while decluttering your home. However, there are certain items they cannot accept. Here’s a list of items they wish you wouldn’t donate.
Sometimes, the nature or condition of items—or failure to meet safety standards—means your donated items won’t be accepted at Goodwill. When they receive items that cannot be sold, staff must take the time and effort to dispose of them, which can drain resources. With that in mind, here’s a list of items that are NOT accepted.

It’s important to be mindful when donating. Goodwill and similar organizations appreciate items that are clean, usable, and in good condition. Donating responsibly helps ensure that the items can be resold or used effectively, rather than becoming a burden. If something is broken or unusable, it's best to find a proper recycling or disposal option. Being respectful and considerate makes a big difference for both the organization and the community they serve!
