Dolores O’Riordan’s Death Ruled an Accident By Coroner
The official cause of death is drowning.
On January 15th, 2018 we woke up to some sad news. The Cranberries singer, Dolores O'Riordan had been found dead in her hotel room. We mourned, but we also wondered: Was she another suicide victim? In the past few years there has been an increase in suicides in the rock community. And last year Dolores opened up about her struggles with bipolar disorder. So we all wondered in the back of our heads, if this was an accidental death or not.
Today, we finally have the answer. The coroner report explains that O'Riordan died of an accidental drowning. Her blood alcohol level was four times the legal limit, and she passed out in the bathtub, resulting in drowning.
