Why am I JUST NOW learning about this??

The Tuesday before Ash Wednesday has many names. Mardi Gras. Fat Tuesday. Shrove Tuesday. And they all have their different traditions.

Shrove Tuesday, AKA: Pancake day, has it's own tradition that I am just now learning about and I am ashamed. I mean, this is a catholic thing. I went to catholic school for 13 years (K-12) and I am JUST NOW HEARING ABOUT SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE RACES????

There are various competitions throughout the world, but my favorite I've seen so far is the Worcester Cathedral's annual pancake race which involves all the bishops and priests sprinting through the Cathedral, dodging obstacles, and flipping a pancake at the same time.

It's wild. And I love it.
