It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc. is an Indiana 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created because of the dire need regarding homeless animals in Evansville and the surrounding communities.   It's grand opening is July 21, 3pm  at 1417 Stockwell, right next to the Stockwell Inn.

Vanderburgh, Warrick, Gibson and Daviess counties are all high kill shelters euthanizing tens of thousands of dogs each year.

ITV was created to reduce the number of dogs that die each year for no other reason than lack of space to house them. ITV rescues dogs from these shelters and places them in loving foster homes until they can find them a permanent home.

ITV has grown into the largest no-kill rescue in Evansville, averaging over 100 dogs relying on us to provide them with food, housing, veterinary care and, ultimately, find them a home. Although ITV does not not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in helping bully breeds, black dogs, dogs with medical needs and other “hard-to-place” dogs. We are one of the few rescues in Evansville that will help these types of dogs.

Vanderburgh County has approximately 180,000 people, yet it does not have a no-kill facility to help the thousands of homeless animals in the area. ITV is opening the first no-kill rescue center in Evansville this summer.  They will have kennels and an attached thrift shop for the rescue center to offset operation costs.

They are having a grand opening event on Saturday, July 21 at 3pm called "Canine Carnival & Mardi Paws" where they are having a family-friendly festival and community event.  Please come out on this day and help support the cause as all proceeds from the event will go directly to helping the dogs of It Takes A Village.
