Vanderburgh County is the latest to make the list of counties under a burn ban. Due to extremely dry conditions Vanderburgh County joins Warrick County in banning open fires. According to the Evansville / Vanderburgh County Emergency Management Agency, the ban includes "chimineas, patio fire pits, or similar devices" as well as fire barrels, fire pits or burning on the open ground. Violators of the ban could be fined up $7,500 per violation, per day. The cliff-notes version of what I'm trying to tell you is stick to your gas grill there Sparky.
