With Iron Maiden getting some well deserved time off, bassist Steve Harris is taking advantage of the opportunity to release new music and support his other band, British Lion. It's now been revealed that the next British Lion album, titled The Burning, will be released on Jan. 17 through Explorer1 Music, with an 18-date U.S. tour to follow.

With the 11-track album now announced, British Lion also have a new song for listeners to check out. Get a listen to the guitar-centric and powerful cut "Lightning" in the player at the bottom of this post.

Singer Richard Taylor says, “We’ve been working on The Burning for the past couple of years and everyone is really pleased with the results. We started playing some of the songs live on recent tours and got a fantastic reaction from our fans so we are really excited to be sharing this album with the world. We’re also looking forward to heading out on the road again and seeing everyone at the shows.”

Speaking of the shows, the newly announced U.S. run will kick off Jan. 18 in Orlando. Harris says, “It’s great for us to finally come to America to play some shows around the release of the new album there through Explorer1 Music. The E1 team have been extremely pro-active and we’re delighted to be working with them on both the record and the tour.”

The tour will also feature support on the run by The Picturebooks. Get ticketing info here and see all the other tour dates listed below.

As for The Burning, it'll be available on Jan. 17 in Digi-pack CD, double gatefold vinyl and digital download formats. Head here for pre-order info and look for the vinyl pre-order here.
