The Griswold family is back for a new Vacation...kinda. Is it a sequel? Is it a reboot? Label how you want, it looks pretty hilarious.

Vacation is the fifth movie in the franchise, although the 2nd (European Vacation) and 4th (Vegas Vacation) films were pretty forgettable. Everyone knows and loves Christmas Vacation, but the original is still my favorite. I remember sneaking to watch that one as a kid who was way too young to see it. Chevy Chase was in his prime, Christie Brinkley was (and still is) smoking hot, John Candy was still alive, and Randy Quaid wasn't bat-shit crazy yet.

If you've never seen the original, or haven't seen it in a while, it is definitely worth another watch.

In the new Vacation, we see Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) all grown up with a family of his own. He wants to take his wife (Christina Applegate) and two sons back to Wally World. Leslie Mann plays older sister Audrey Griswold and Chris Hemsworth (Thor himself) turns in a pretty revealing performance. We also see cameos from Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo.

In many ways this seems like a reboot of the franchise - with a new, younger cast with new wacky adventures and new, modern problems.

I'm glad they went with a raunchy, juvenile R-rated movie. In my opinion, that's the only way to do a 'Vacation' movie. Check out the red-band trailer and let me know what you think.
