It's safe to say that it's been a bit contentious between Jack White and the Black Keys over the years, and it appears as though tensions between White and Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney reignited over the weekend.

In a series of tweets (since taken down), Carney accused White of "bullying" him and claimed that White allegedly attempted to start an altercation at New York City's Cabin Down Below bar. "I've never met Jack White. Until last night. He came to a bar in NYC I go to a lot with a few friends and tried to fight me," stated the drummer. "I don't fight and don't get fighting, but he was mad." The drummer went on to state that "Jack White is basically Billy Corgan's dumb ass 'Zero' t-shirt in human form" and added, "Jack White, a 40-year-old bully tried to fight the 35-year-old nerd. It might get loud, but it might also get really, really sad and pathetic."

In a statement released to Rolling Stone, White said, "Nobody tried to fight you, Patrick. Nobody touched you or 'bullied' you. You were asked a question you couldn't answer, so you walked away. So quit whining to the Internet and speak face to face like a human being. End of story."

Apparently, White and Carney did have a talk later and smoothed things over. Carney's most recent tweet reads as follows:

The tensions between White and the Black Keys first came to light back in 2013 when leaked emails from the singer's divorce proceedings showed White claiming that he felt the band "ripped off" his music and also was seeking to have his children pulled out of the same school that singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach's kids attended. White later apologized to the band after the emails were made public.
