When a new image of AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson and drummer Phil Rudd surfaced online earlier this week, rumors that the full band was working on a new record started to be taken seriously. The photo was reportedly shot outside Vancouver Warehouse Studios, where AC/DC recorded their last three albums. Now, a picture of Stevie and Angus Young having a smoke has been posted on social media, and it seems to have been taken at the same place.

Both photos were shot by AC/DC fan Crystal Lambert, whose apartment is near the studio. Steve Newton, the Canadian blogger who first wrote that AC/DC are at the studio, writes that after the band was spotted at the location, a large umbrella were raised on the deck, blocking the view of any of the members.

Are the two pics substantial proof that AC/DC are working on the follow-up to 2014's Rock or Bust album, which would be the first since the tragic death of Angus' brother, guitarist and co-founder Malcolm Young on Nov. 18, 2017? Not really, but clearly something's going on. If it's not a record, it could be a film, a television project, a photo book or some sort of unannounced remastering session.

The thought that AC/DC are, indeed, getting ready to record or are working on a new album is exciting for a number of reasons: It looks like it would involve Brian Johnson, who was forced to leave the band during the Rock or Bust tour, when doctors told him his hearing damage could devolve into complete deafness if he continued to perform; Guns N' Roses vocalist Axl Rose famously filled in for Johnson on the tour. Rudd also missed the tour after he was busted for drug possession and threatened to kill one of his employees; he was replaced by Chris Slade in 2015. Now he, too, appears to be back.

The only regular who hasn't been spotted is bassist Cliff Williams, who retired at the end of the Rock or Bust tour. It's unclear who would take Williams' place, but both Stevie, who filled in for Malcolm on the Rock or Bust tour and Angus are surely capable of at least laying down preliminary bass tracks.

Angus has been silent about what the future holds for AC/DC and Rose has said he'd be interested in singing on the band's next record. It looks like the latter may not happen. But one thing's for sure -- AC/DC are still ready prepared to rock and aren't ready to go bust.
