Grab a friend, your spoons and a copy of the event map and head down to Franklin Street tomorrow for the Annual Gumbo Cook Off. In it's 7th year, the gumbo cook off, hosted by the Franklin Street Events Association, is set break the $150,000 mark for donations given to local non-profits and you could be a part of it. Commemorative mugs are on sale at Lamasco's for $20 and you can use your mug at dozens of gumbo stations setup all along Franklin Street. Gumbo will be served by non profits and local business and your $20 will get you a taste of nearly 40 gumbos. To keep the impact on the planet as minimal as possible, the event is BYOS (Bring Your Own Spoon) so as to avoid plastic waste.

The event kicks off on Franklin Street in Evansville beginning at 1pm. You'll want to make sure you save a copy of the map too.
