After making its triumphant return to an in-person event last year for the first time since 2019, the St. Jude Walk/Run will be back once again later this Fall with one major change.

2023 St. Jude Walk/Run Set for Sunday, September 24th

For as long as I've been involved with the annual fundraising run, it's started and ended at the Burdette Park Pavillion with the course winding its way through the park and along parts of the USI-Burdette Park Walking Trail and Nurrenbern Road. That won't be the case this year as the event is moving from Burdette Park on Evansville's west side to Historic Bosse Field on the city's north side.

Other than that, everything else about the event remains the same. It will happen rain or shine and is open to walkers and runners of all ages and skill levels, with the goal of raising as much money as possible so the doctors and researchers at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee can continue developing treatments for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases, and most importantly, continue saving lives.

2023 St. Jude Walk/Run Registration

Starting with last year's event, there is no longer a registration fee to participate. So, how do they raise any money? Great question. The answer is you. You're encouraged to set a fundraising goal for yourself or your team, then invite friends and family to make a donation. Or, you can simply make a monetary donation to the hospital yourself.

And, if you're looking for a team to join, it just so happens we have one and we'd love for you to join us! Click the button below to join TEAM WKDQ.

The Evansville race has the tradition of being the largest St. Jude Run in the country, and I have no doubt now that it's back to being an in-person event we'll continue that tradition.

Visit the St. Jude Walk/Run registration page to participate as an individual, or join or start a team. We'll see you at Bosse Field on September 24th!
