Excited as we were to have Ruben Fleischer's 2009 film 'Zombieland' continued in Amazon's TV format, via Deadline we've learned that Amazon has passed on the 'Zombieland' pilot, as well as the musical workforce comedy 'Browsers.' Amazon will continue narrowing down its choices of which pilot to take to series, largely based on viewer reception to the various series.

'Zombieland' the TV series picked up two weeks after the events of the 2009 film, and featured a cast comprised of Kirk Ward as Tallahassee, Maiara Walsh as Wichita, Tyler Ross as Columbus, and Izabela Vodovic as Little Rock. Original ‘Zombieland’ writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the pilot and executive produced the show alongside the movie’s producer, Gavin Polone.

We'll certainly lament that Amazon decided to pass on the pilot, flawed though it might have been, though we're told that it's possible another outlet could pick up the 'Zombieland' series.
