That's right. The 17th. NOT the 15th!

Individual tax returns for the tax year of 2017 are due by Tuesday, April 17th, 2018, according to TurboTax.com

Usually the final day to do your taxes is on the 15th, but the 15th falls on a Sunday this year.

So why not the 16th? Well, Washington D.C. observes Emancipation Day (The day the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1862) as a holiday on April 16th.

So April 17th is the official tax return deadline for 2018.

If you need an extension to file your taxes, those extension papers must also be filled out before April 17th as well!
