Tom Brady's suspension because of the Deflategate scandal is a matter of life and death.

Patricia Shong, 72, of, Auburn, Ma., died earlier this month and in her obituary she made sure to mention that the New England Patriots quarterback did nothing wrong in the controversy:

Patricia enjoyed scrapbooking, cross stitching, pixel art, knitting, and crocheting. She relished weekly card night with the ladies. Patricia was known for being an avid reader which all who knew her can attest to based on her mini home library. She especially loved spending time with her family. She would also like us to set the record straight for her: Brady is innocent!!

You get the feeling that somewhere, someone is penning his last will and testament and preparing a simple yet passionate defense for Alex Rodriguez.

We don't know if Shong's words will turn the tide of public opinion, but we do know that Brady is appealing his four-game suspension. Who knows, maybe her obit will hit a nerve with the NFL, although we'd be surprised if it does.
