One Minnesota woman is going for the "Douchebag Aunt Of The Year" award after making her 11-year-old nephew ride in the trunk of her Lexus. She was worried about the child dripping water on her leather seats.

After a visit to a local water park, Susan Marie McCarty realized she didn't bring a towel to dry her nephew off. Rather than risk letting water touch her precious Lexus leather seats, she made the boy ride in the trunk of the vehicle.

Bystanders saw the boy get in the trunk and reported the vehicle to local police. A console in the back seat was apparently left open so the boy could poke his head through.

The aunt was stopped by police and arrested after she had already dropped the child off. The boy and his older sister both said it was weird that he was made to ride in the trunk but they didn't question their aunt.

If she is convicted of the charges she is facing, McCarty could face a year in jail and a $3000 fine. She probably could have just fixed those seats for cheaper.
