In the past 11 years, UFC President Dana White has only missed one UFC event. That event was UFC on Fuel TV 3 back on May 15th. In the past White has battled with the flu and food poisoning and not missed an event. So what caused him to miss this one?

Earlier this month White was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease. This disease has been defined as "an inner ear disorder that affects balance and hearing." This disorder affects between 50,000-100,000 each year. Symptoms include: drop in hearing, pressure in the ear, ringing in the affected ear, and vertigo. Vertigo can then lead to severe dizziness, nausea and vomiting.

There is no cure for Meniere's Disease, but there are some treatment options, including lifestyle changes, antibiotics and herbal remedies. White wants to take the surgery route though. According to MMAJunkie.com, White says "I want the surgery...They don't want to give me the surgery, but I want the surgery." The story goes on to say that the surgery would cause complete hearing loss in the affected ear, and would require a bit of physical therapy. But that doesn't seem to bother White one bit. He says "They said you go in and start working with a therapist, and in like a month, you can start getting your stuff back together..So I'll do it in two weeks. I don't have a month."
